Ingredients

  • cups all purpose flour

  • ¼

    cup cornstarch

  • ½

    tsp salt

  • cups powered sugar (divided)

  • 5

    tbls butter (softened)

  • 2

    tbls oil

  • 2

    tbls 2% milk

  • tsp vanilla

  • 1

    tsp aniseed crushed

Directions

Preheat oven 350 degrees 1. combine flour, cornstarch & salt in medium, stirring with a whisk 2. beat 3/4 cup sugar, butter, & oil with a mixer at medium speed, beat until light & fluffy. Add milk & vanilla, beat until well blended. Add flour mixture & aniseed, beat at low speed until blended. Chill for 30 mins. 3. shape dough into 2 inch logs, bend logs to form crescent shapes. 4. arrange 1 inch apart, bake for 14mins until edges are golden. Cool on pan for 3mins. 5. sift remaining 1/2 cup sugar into a med. bowl toss warm cookies in sugar to coat.
