Vegan Chicken Substitue

Ingredients

  • Seitan:
  • 1 1/2 cups gluten flour
  • 2 Tbsp whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tso garlic powder
  • Broth:
  • 6 cups water
  • 1/2 cup "chicken" flavoured broth powder
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce

Preparation

Step 1

Add 1 1/2 cups warm broth to flour mixture in a food processor. Knead into firm dough. Cut into 6 pieces and drop into boiling broth. Simmer on low boil for one hour, turning occasionally.

For "Chicken" flavoured variation add 1/2 tsp poultry seasoning mix to the seitan.
