Ingredients
- 6 large McIntosh or Jonagold apples
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 6 TBS maple syrup
- 6 TBS salted butter, cut into small pieces
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350.
Wash and core apples, leaving them whole. Peel the skin dwon from the top about an inch. Level the bottoms and arrange in baking dish.
Combine cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves in a small bowl. Fill cavity of each apple with 1TBS of maple syrup, 1TBS butter and a dash of spice mixture.
Fill baking dish with 3/4c water, then bake, basting often for 40-50 min or until tender.
