Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Dijon-style mustard
- 2 tablespoons Oriental sesame oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon chopped, pared fresh ginger
- 2 large cloves of garlic, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 round steak for London broil (2 pounds), 1 1/2 inches thick
Preparation
Step 1
Combine soy sauce, sugar, mustard, sesame oil, onion, ginger, garlic and pepper in blender. Whirl until combined.
Arrange steak in shallow baking dish. Cover with marinade. Refrigerate, covered, for at least 3 hours or overnight.
Broil steak in preheated broiler about 4 inches from heat for 6 to 7 minutes on each side for rare. Let meat stand 5 minutes before slicing.
*Make-Ahead Tip:*
The meat can be marinated overnight in refrigerator, covered. Or cook a day ahead and refrigerate, then slice and serve cold or at room temperature.
