Peanut Butter Fudge Brownies

Ingredients

  • Brownies:
  • 1 c butter
  • 1/3 c Hershey's Cocoa
  • 2 c sugar
  • 1 1/2 c flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 lg. eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 (18 oz) jar peanut butter
  • Frosting:
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/3 c whole milk
  • 10 large marshmallows
  • 1/4 c Hershey's Cocoa
  • 1 (16 oz) pkg powdered sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Brownies:
Melt butter and cocoa in sauce pan over low heat stirring constantly. Remove from heat, cool slightly.

Combine sugar, flour, and salt in large bowl. Slowly add chocolate mixture; beating at medium speed until blended.

Add eggs and vanilla; beat until blended. Do not over-mix.

Pour into large stoneware bar pan. Bake at 350 degrees, 25-30 minutes. Check for doneness with toothpick.

Peanut Butter Topping:
Spoon mounds of peanut butter over hot brownies. As it melts, spread over warm brownies. Allow to cool, then chill 30 minutes.

Fudge Frosting:
Cook butter, milk, and marshmallows in large sauce-pan over medium-low heat; stirring constantly until marshmallows are melted.

Remove from heat and sift in cocoa; beat with hand mixer until smooth and creamy. Gradually sift in powdered sugar and mix until smooth.

Spread frosting over peanut butter and return to refrigerator to chill at least 20 minutes.

If not serving immediately, cover with foil and store in refrigerator.
