Vera's Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup powder sugar
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Preparation

Step 1

Cream sugar, powder sugar, oil, butter, vanilla and eggs. Add flour, cream of tartar and baking soda.
Refrigerate overnight. Form dough into small ball (walnut size). Place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Dip juice glass into sugar and flatten the balls. Do not put more than 3 balls across a jelly roll pan, they will spread.
Bake on 350° for 12-14 minutes. Check for color. Let them rest for 1 minutes, remove on a wire rack.
