Vanishing Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

This is an old recipe from the Quaker Oats box. Everyone loves them especially youngsters.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. plus 6T. butter, softened
  • 3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 t. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. all purpose flour
  • 1 t. baking soda
  • 1 t. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 t. salt (optional)
  • 3 c. Quaker Oaks(quick or old fashioned, uncooked)
  • 1 c. raisins

Preparation

Step 1

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bown beat butter and sugars on med. speed of electric mixer until creamy.
2. Add eggs and vanilla: beat well
3. Add combined flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt;mix well.
4. Add oats and raisins; mix well.
5 drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
6. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool completely.
Store tightly covered.
Makes about 4 dozen.
