Ingredients

  • 1 cup 1 cup sliced onion
  • 1/4 cup 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 package 1 package (8-1/2 ounces) corn bread/muffin mix
  • 1 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/3 cup 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 can 1 can (8-1/2 ounces) cream-style corn
  • 2 drops 2 drops hot pepper sauce
  • 1 cup 1 cup (8 ounces) sour cream
  • 1 cup 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1/4 teaspoon 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon 1/4 teaspoon dill weed

Step 1

In a large skillet over low heat, cook onion in butter until tender. Meanwhile, combine corn bread mix, egg, milk, corn and hot pepper sauce: stir until smooth, Spoon batter into a greased 9 in. square baking pan. Add sour cream, 1/2 cup cheese, salt and dill weed to onions in skillet. Spoon batter in baking pan. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake at 425 fir 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm. Yields: 9 servings
