Ingredients
- Cookies
- 1 c Butter
- 2/3 c Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 2 1/2 c Flour, sifted
- Frosting
- 3/4 c Powdered Sugar, sifted
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 1 tbsp Milk
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla
- 1/4 tsp Lemon Juice

Preparation
Step 1
Cookies
Cream together butter and sugar.
Beat in egg.
Add vanilla and flour.
Mix until all ingredients are well blended.
Chill dough 3-4 hours before rolling.
Pre heat oven to 350°.
Roll out and cut ¼ inch thick cookies.
Bake about 8-10 minutes or until barely colored.
Remove from cookie sheets and cool on wire racks.
Frosting
Melt butter.
Combine all ingredients and beat until smooth.
Add food coloring if desired.
