CARAMEL CAKE FROSTING ( Imogene Tite Nicholson )
- 1 ) 1/2 cup butter
- 2 ) 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 3 ) 3 tablespoons milk
- 4 ) 2 cups sifted powdered sugar
Combine butter and brown sugar in a medium sauce pan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, cook 2 minutes, add milk return to a boil. Remove from heat let stand 5 minutes, add powdered sugar beating until smooth. Yield enough to frost sides of one 8 or 9 inch 2 layer cake.
