Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 carrot, shredded
- 1 medium-sized onion, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 (15-oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1 beef bouillon packet
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Preparation
Step 1
In large pan, brown the beef over medium-high heat. Drain off excess liquid and add the carrot, onion and garlic. Cook 4 to 5 minutes, or until onion is tender, stirring occasionally.
Add the remaining ingredients; cover and reduce heat to low. Simmer 20 minutes, allowing the flavors to "marry", stirring occasionally.
Note: Mix this sauce with 1 1/2 lbs. cooked rigatoni.
