Ingredients
- Stuffed cabbage
- 3 Pounds ground beef (1.5 meatloaf and 1.5 lean)
- 1 cup white rice
- 2 cups water
- 3 large yellow onions finely chopped and sautéed in oleo
- 2 large heads of cabbage steamed until soft
- Salt and pepper
- margarine or oleo added to beef mixture
- small can of diced tomatoes
Preparation
Step 1
De vein cabbage leaves
Fill center of leaf nearest stem end and fold sides of leaf over then roll up
Place cabbage rolls seam side down in rows on top of shredded cabbage or left over cabbage leaves in big pot that will be put on stove.
cover most of stuffed cabbage with water and add some vinegar.
Pour small can of diced tomatoes on top.
Also add 2-3 bay leaves
Bring to boil then turn down to low simmer for 2-3 hours.
