Yummy Hash Browns

Ingredients

  • 1lb bag of hash browns
  • 1 medium onion
  • 8 oz sour cream
  • 8 0z cream of chicken soup
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 4 cups of shredded cheese
  • salt and pepper
  • chives (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

You will need to peel and dice the onion, and put it to the side.
When hash browns are thawed place them into a large mixing bowl, and add the salt and pepper making sure it is mixed throughout the hash browns. Next take the stick of softened butter and cube it and add it to the bowl; now you need to add 8 oz of sour cream, cream of chicken soup, diced onions, and three cups of cheese. When you have done this you will need to mix it thoroughly, your hands are the best tool for this.

Pre-heat your oven to 375 degrees and spray non-stick spray into a glass casserole dish. Spoon the mixture into the dish and even it out. Sprinkle the remaining cup of cheese on top and cover with tin foil. Bake covered for approximately 35 minutes and bake uncovered for about 15 minutes or until the edges of casserole start to look crisp. Thinly slice a few chives and garnish. Serve and enjoy.
