Ingredients

    stick (1/2cup) unsalted butter

  • 1

    cup brown sugar

  • 2

    tablespoons corn syrup light

  • cup of half and half

  • 1

    teaspoon vanilla

  • 1

    teaspoon Grand Marnier

  • ¼

    teaspoon salt

  • 5

    eggs

  • 8-9

    " loaf Challah

Directions

Melt butter in small sauce pan with brown sugar and syrup, stirring until smooth. Pour into 13x9 inch baking dish. Cut challah in 6 1-inch thick slices and arrange in one layer, squeezing slightly to fit. Whisk eggs, half and half, vanilla, Grand Marnier, and salt. Pour over bread. Chill at least 8 hours, up to one day. Heat oven to 350 degrees, bring bread to room temperature. Bake uncovered until puffed and edges are golden, about 35-40 minutes.
