Canadian Oatmeal Shortbread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 cups rolled oats

Preparation

Step 1

.Cream together butter, brown sugar and vanilla until fluffy. Mix together flour Stir in flour, soda and rolled oats. Stir into butter mixture.

Chill in refrigerator for at least two hours.

2.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)

3.Roll out dough on a lightly floured and sugared surface to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut out with a cookie cutter and bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
