Ingredients
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce -will use "No salt added"
- 1/4 C. water
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp. dried basil leaves
- 1/4 tsp. dried thyme
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- One eighth tsp. black pepper -will increase this amount
- 1 whole bay leaf
- 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
- Will double this recipe-possibly quadruple. Then freeze some portions to have ready when needed.
Preparation
Step 1
1. Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan.
2. Cook over medium heat until sauce starts to boil.
3. Lower heat and simmer, covered, for 30 to 45 minutes.
