Pan Seared Tuna

  • Tuna Steaks
  • 2 Tbsp mirin rice wine
  • 1 Tbsp- fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp minced fresh ginger
  • 3 Tbsp chopped scallion
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Step 1

Preheat stainless steel skillet over medium-high heat about 2 minutes. While it is preheating, rub tuna steaks with 1 Tbsp lemon juice then season with salt and pepper. Cook the tuna steaks for 2-3 minutes on each side depending on thickness and how rare you want them.

Remove from pan and place on a plate. Turn the heat down to medium and add the rest of the ingredients in order given. Let them cook for one minute. Pour over the tuna steaks and serve.

VARIATION: combine all ingredients in a ziplock baggie and mix well. Add tuna steaks and marinade no less than 2 hours. Follow cooking instructions abovE.
