Russian Teacakes

Ingredients

  • 1 C soft butter
  • 1/2 C sifted confectioners sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/4 C sifted flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 C finely chopped nuts

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 400 degrees.

Mix thoroughly together 1 C. butter, 1/2 C confectioners sugar, and 1 tsp.vanilla.

Sift together 2 1/4 C flour and 1/4 tsp. salt, and stir into butter mixture.

Mix in 3/4 C finely chopped nuts.

Chill the dough. Roll into 1" balls. Place on ungreased baking sheet (cookies do not spread). Bake until set (10 to 12 minutes), but now browned. While still warm, roll in confectioners' sugar. Cool. Roll in sugar again.
