Ingredients

  • 1 cup coffee, cooked
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups butter, softened

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Coat two 9" cake pans with cooking spray. Line bottom of pans with parchment paper circle.

In large bowl, combine sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, soda and salt. Whisk in buttermilk, eggs, oil and coffee. Mix until smooth. Divide batter into pans. Sprinkle with mini chips.

Bake 30-40 minutes. Cool 10 minutes. Transfer from pans to racks; remove parchment. Cool completely.
