Substitute for Zesty Dry Italian Salad Dressing

The recipe below can be substituted for 1 packet of Zesty Italian Dressing Mix. I love this recipe, it makes a wonderful salad dressing, or if your recipe calls for a packet of Zesty Dry Italian Dressing you can substitute this in place of the store bought packets.

Ingredients

• DRESSING:
• 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
• 1 tablespoon onion powder
• 2 tablespoons oregano
• 1 tablespoon dried parsley
• 1 tablespoon sugar
• 1 teaspoon black pepper
• 1 teaspoon ground basil
• 1/4 teaspoon thyme
• 1/2 teaspoon dried celery leaves
• 2 tablespoons mix
• 1/4 cup vinegar
• 2 tablesppons water
• 1/2 to 2/3 cup olive oil, canola oil, or salad oil

Preparation

Step 1

Measure out all ingredients and combine in bowl. Use in place of Zesty Dry Italian Dressing packet. Store in an air tight container or zip lock bag.

To make dressing: Mix 2 tablespoons of mix with ¼ cup vinegar, 2 tablespoons water and ½ to ⅔ cup olive oil.
