Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup caster sugar
- 1/2 cup ground hazelnuts
- 3 1/3 ounces butter, chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon cold water
- 4 tablespoons chocolate hazelnut spread
Preparation
Step 1
Brush two oven trays with melted butter. Line with baking paper.
Step 2
Place four, cocoa powder, sugar and hazelnuts in a food processor; add butter and process for 30 seconds or until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Add egg and enough water to moisten; process until mixture comes together. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface; knead 30 seconds or until smooth.
Step 3
Roll dough out on a large sheet of baking paper to form a rectangle 10" x 14". Trim uneven edges. Spread hazelnut spread evenly over dough. Using paper to lift dough, roll up from long side to form a log. Wrap tightly in paper and plastic wrap and refrigerate 30 minutes. Preheat over to 350 degrees.
Step 4
Cut dough into 1/2 inch slices. Place onto prepared trays. Bake 10-12 minutes or until cooked through. Transfer to wire rack to cool.
