Black Eyed Peas 2022 - so good

The best black eyed peas I have made...definitely a keeper

Ingredients
- 1 -lb bag blackeyed peas
- large ham bone with some meat
- salt
- pepper
- 1 onion
- garlic powder
- cayenne pepper to taste
- 1 tsp Better than boullion beef flavor
Preparation
Step 1
Soak peas overnight
Step 2
Drain peas and put in large dutch oven.....cover with water by about 1 inch. Add all other ingredients and cook on medium low for 8 hours. Stirring occasionally. These were by far, the best peas I have ever made. Be sure to taste as it cooks and add whatever you think will improve the flavor. The boullion was an add on because I felt it needed more depth of flavor. It was a good call!!!
Step 3
Serve with ham and corn bread and prepare for Good Luck!
