Honey Garlic chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 whole cut up chicken, skin removed
  • 1/3 cup honey divided
  • 5 gloves of fresh garlic minced or use 2 tablespoons of garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • Juice from 1 lemon
  • 1/4 cup white wine
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon potato starch
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper
  • Rosemary sprigs for garnish (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Season chicken pieces with salt, pepper and paprika. Mix 1/4 cup of honey, lemon juice, olive oil , brown sugar and garlic. Place chicken on parchment lined roasting pan or lightly oiled pan. Pour marinade over. Marinade overnight or for 2 hours. Spoon marinade over and cook on 400 degrees covered for 50 minutes. Remove chicken from pan and pour pan juice into a sauce pan. Add white wine and the rest of the honey. Bring it to a simmer. Dissolve potato starch in cold water and add to the sauce. Simmer until sauce thickens. Pour over chicken and place back in the oven. Continue to cook on 450 degrees until golden brown and sauce is bubbly. Garnish with rosemary if desired
