Gingerbread-Caramel Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg spice cake mix
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pkg 269g Kraft Caramels
  • 3/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 pkg 170g Bakers white chocolate coarsely chopped- divided

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven 350
Line 13x9 inch pan with foil with ends of foil extending over sides
Spray with cooking spray
Beat cake mix, ginger,butter and egg until blended. Dough will be stiff
Press2/3 of dough onto bottom of pan
Bake 10-12 mins or until lightly browned. Meanwhile microwave bowl on high 3-3.5 mins or until caramels are completely melted stirring g after each minute
Drizzle caramel sauce over baked layer in pan. Reserve 2 tbsp chopped chocolate, sprinkle remaining over caramel sauce. Crumble remaining gingerbread dough over dessert.
Bake 25-30 mins or until center is almost set. Cool completely
Microwave reserved chocolate as directed on pkg drizzle over dessert. Let stand until chocolate is firm. Cut into bars.
