Sausage Balls

This creation is an easy appetizer to make and has all the right flavors...hot Italian sausage, Cheddar cheese, onions and mushrooms that come together to create beautiful spheres of savory goodness.

Ingredients

  • 1 package JOHNSONVILLE® Fresh Italian Hot Ground Sausage or JOHNSONVILLE® Fresh Italian Hot Sausage Links
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1-1/4 cups baking mix (Bisquick® or Jiffy®)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped mushroom
  • 1/4 cup milk

Preparation

Step 1

In a skillet, cook and crumble sausage over medium heat until cooked through and lightly browned; drain.

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine the sausage, cheese, baking mix, onion, mushrooms and milk; mix well.

Step 3

Shape mixture into 36 walnut-size balls; place on a greased baking sheet.

Step 4

Bake at 350°F until lightly browned; about 15 - 20 minutes.

Step 5

Remove from oven; let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
