Fried Apple Crumble

Fried Apple Crumble, a favorite, fried apples gets turned into a crowd pleasing fall dessert!

Ingredients
- Fried Apples:
- 4 granny smith apples cored and cut into 4ths, then 3rds
- 8 Tablespoons 1 stick unsalted butter
- 1/2 Cup light brown sugar
- 1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon
- Crumble Topping:
- 1/2 Cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 Cup all purpose flour
- 2 Tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1/4 Cup chopped pecans I used my cinnamon sugar roasted pecans
- dash of salt
Preparation
Step 1
Fried Apples:
1. Place butter into a large sauce pan over medium heat. Melt butter, add in the brown sugar and cinnamon, stir to combine. Add in the apples, coat in the butter mixture and let cook, stirring occasionally until the apples are just fork tender, about 10 minutes. Set aside.
Crumble Topping:
1. Place flour and sugar in a medium sized bowl. Mix to combine. Dice up the butter in small pieces, add to the flour mixture, using your fingers roll the butter into the flour until it forms a small pebble/sand consistency. Add in the chopped pecans and mix to combine.
Fried Apple Crumble:
1. Preheat oven to 400°F degrees. Place apples in an oven safe dish. Top with the crumble. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown on the top and the apples are bubbly. Let cool slightly, serve with ice cream and more chopped pecans for garnish if desired. Enjoy!
