Ingredients
- 1 cup raw cashews
- 1/2 cup nutritional yeast
- 1 Tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 Tbsp maple syrup
- 1 Tbsp agar
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- 1/4 tsp cayenne
- 1 1/2 cups water
- pinch of kosher salt
Preparation
Step 1
Place half of the water and everything else, apart from the agar, into a Vitamix or strong blender. Blend until smooth
Step 2
In a saucepan, put remaining half water and the agar. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Make sure no lumps of agar form at the bottom
Step 3
Take pan off of the heat and stir in cashew cheese mixture until combined. Pour into a mold and chill for an hour.
Step 4
Enjoy the cheese within 5 days and keep chilled. This vegan cheese can be frozen for up to 3 months
