Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 5 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Butter 9" round pan.

Step 2

Beat eggs and add sugar. Mix in melted butter. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cornmeal. Alternately add dry and wet ingredients with buttermilk.

Step 3

Pour batter into pan; bake 30 minutes.
