Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 24 pre-cooked meatballs
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons butter or oil (or both)
  • 2 cups ginger ale (or sometimes I use 7-up)
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. apple cider vinegar

Preparation

Step 1

In a large skillet cook chopped onions in butter or oil until softened.

Stir together ginger ale, ketchup, brown sugar and vinegar in a bowl and add to onions. Simmer until sauce thickens and reduces (30-45 mins). Stir frequently and be careful not to let sauce the sauce burn.

Add meatballs to the sauce and simmer until nicely coated.
