Cherry Fudge Brownies

Ideal for after-school (or after-work) snackingk these brownies really satisfy a chocolate craving. The almond extract helps to enhance the sweet cherry flavor, while adding a touch of nuttiness.

Ingredients
- 3/4 c all-purpse flour
- 2/3 c unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1 c granulated sugar
- 1/4 c buttter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 1/3 c chopped candied cherries
- 1/4 c semisweet chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp confectioners' sugar

Preheat the oven to 350. Spray an 8 inch square baking pan with nosntick spray.
combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Combine the granulated sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and almond extract in another bowl. Add the sugar mixture to the gour mixture; stir just until blended. Fold in the cherriesand chocolate chips. Pour the batter into the baking pan.
Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out almost cleank, 28-32 minutes. Cool in the pan on a rack 20 minutes. Cut into 16 bars. Remove from the pan and sprinkle iwth the confectioners' sugar.
