Turkey Pot Pie: Swanson's Savory Herb-Crusted

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1 T. water
  • 6 c. diced cooked turkey or chicken
  • 5 c. frozen mixed vegetables or your favorite veg blend
  • 2 T. butter
  • 1/2 c. all purpose flour
  • 2 c. Swanson Chicken Stock
  • 1/4 t. black pepper
  • 1/2 of 17.3 oz. package of Pep Farm Puff Pastry Sheets (1 sheet, thawed)
  • 2 T. coarsely chpt fresh herbs (pars, thy, &/or oreg)

Preparation

Step 1

Oven to 400. Beat egg and water in small bowl with fork.

Stir turkey and vegetables in 13 x 9" baking dish

Heat butter in 2 qt. saucepan over medium heat. Add flour and cook and stir 3 minutes. Gradually stir stock into saucepan. Cook and stir 5 minutes or until mix poils and thickens. Stir in black pepper. Pour stock mix over turkey mix.

Unfold pastry sheet onto lightly floured surface. Roll into 13 x. 9" rectangle. Place pastry over filling. Press pastry to rim to seal. Brush pastry with egg mix and sprinkle with herbs.

Bake 25 min or until pastry is golden brown and filling is hot and bubbling.
