Apple Cobbler (Clyde Tite)
- 8 c Granny Smith peeled apple slices
- 3 cups sugar
- 4 cups water
- 4 Tab Apple Pie Spice
- 2 sticks butter
- 4 refrigerated pie crusts
Cooking time 50mins
Put 2 crusts in the bottom of large baking dish. Layer apples, sugar, apple pie spice and water to cover apples, with an extra inch of liquid over apples.
Cover with slices of butter. Put top crust over butter and make slits for steam to escape.
Bake at 425 for 50-60 minutes on lowest rack.
Garnish with vanilla ice cream & slivered almonds.
