Ingredients

  • Streusel:
  • 1 cup Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup Chopped Pecans
  • 1/4 cup Flour
  • 3 Tbsp Melted Butter
  • 1 tsp Grated Orange Zest
  • Cake:
  • 1/2 cup Softened Butter
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 3 Large Eggs
  • 1 tsp Grated Orange Zest
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 2/3 cup Orange Juice
  • Glaze:
  • 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 2 tsp Orange Juice

Preparation

Step 1

Streusel: Mix together sugar, nuts and flour. Stir in butter and orange zest. Combine well.

Cake: Grease and flour a 9-10 inch springform pan. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in zest and vanilla. Sift together flour, baking powder and baking soda. Add to butter mixture alternately with orange juice. Spoon half of batter into prepared pan. Sprinkle half of streusel over batter. Top with remaining batter and streusel. Bake 50-60 minutes until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack 10 minutes, remove sides and bottom of springform pan and move cake to serving plate. Stir together powdered sugar and orange juice well. Drizzle over cake and dust with powdered sugar.

Helpful Tips:
For a different streusel mixture you can use almonds or walnuts.
