Carmel Corn

Ingredients

  • 4 quarts unsalted popcorn
  • 1 C brown sugar
  • 1/2 C margarine
  • 1/4 C light corn syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 C peanuts (optional)

Preparation

Step 1


Boil together for 5 minutes brown sugar, margarine, light corn syrup, and salt.

Take mix off the heat and stir in 1 tsp. vanilla and 1 tsp. baking soda.

Pour over ther popped corn and stir in a big roasting pan. Put in 250 degree oven for 1 hour and stir every 15 minutes

You can add 2 C peanuts when pouring syrup over corn, if desired.
