Ingredients
- 4 boneless chicken breasts
- 1/4 + 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 6 tbs olive oil
- 2 1/2 tbs lemon juice
- 3 minced garlic cloves
- 2 tsp dried marjoram
- 3 tbs onion, finely minced
- 4 pita breads
- Yogurt Sauce
- Toppings: sliced tomatoes, thinly sliced onion, chopped black olives, shredded lettuce
Preparation
Step 1
Combine salt, pepper, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, marjoram and onion in a bowl. Add chicken breasts, stir to coat, cover and place in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours.
Remove the chicken breasts from the marinade. Grill over high heat. Slice the chicken breasts and keep warm.
Warm the pita briefly over the grill.
Cut a 1 inch slice off the end of each pita. Open the pocket and fill with chicken. Add tomatoes, onion, olive and lettuce to taste. Serve with yogurt sauce.
