Ingredients

    cup uncooked yellow grits

  • 2

    c. water

  • 2

    c. milk

  • Salt

  • 1

    lb. sausage

  • 1

    onion, chopped

  • 8

    TBSP butter

  • 2

    eggs, beaten

  • 2

    cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated

  • 10

    dashes Texas Pete

  • 1

    tsp. paprika

  • 1/4

    c. chopped parsley

Directions

Preheat oven to 325. Cook grits in 2 cups water and 2 cups milk, salted, until thick. Saute sausage and onion. Drain. Add butter, eggs, cheese and hot sauce to grits. Combine grits mixture with sausage mixture. Pour into a greased 13 x 9 inch casserole dish and garnish with additional cheese, paprika and parsley. Bake for 1 hour. Can be refrigerated up to 2 days before baking.
