Ingredients

    tablespoons olive oil

  • 3

    tablespoons butter

  • 2

    pounds beef round steak, cut into strips

  • 1

    tablespoon paprika

  • 1/2

    onion, cut into long slices

  • 1

    10-ounce can diced tomatoes

  • 2

    cups beef stock

  • 3

    cloves garlic, chopped

  • 1

    green pepper, cut into slices

  • 1

    red pepper, cut into slices

  • 2

    tablespoons flour

  • 1/3

    cup water

  • 4

    cups cooked rice

Directions

1. Add olive oil and butter to bottom of heavy-bottomed pot with tight fitting lid over medium heat. 2. Brown steak slices and then sprinkle with paprika. 3.Add in onions, tomatoes, beef stock, and garlic. 4.Place cover over pot and allow to simmer for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours until meat is tender. 5. Add in peppers and allow to cook until tender. 6. Combine flour with water and pour into pot. Stir in well and allow to thicken slightly. 7. Remove from heat and serve over cooked rice.
