German Skillet Dinner

Ingredients

  • 3 tbs. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cabbage , chopped
  • 2/3 cup uncooked rice (I use minute rice)
  • 1 med onion, chopped
  • 2 lbs hamburger
  • 1 can diced tomatoes or rotel tomatoes (Rotel tomatoes have hot peppers in them)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter in skillet, layer cabbage, uncooked rice, onion, raw crumbled hamburger, salt and pepper, then tomatoes. Cover with lid and simmer 25-35 minutes until rice, cabbage and burger are done.

Do not stir or lift lid until done.
