Strawberry Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 baked 9 inch pastry shell
  • 3 pints strawberries, washed and hulled
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3-1/2 tablespoons Argo Corn Starch
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Few drops red food coloring
  • Whipped cream

Preparation

Step 1

Mash 1 pint strawberries. Mix sugar and corn starch in 3 quart saucepan. Stir in water and mashed berries. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil. Boil 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in food coloring. Cool.

Fold remaining 2 pints berries into cooled mixture.

Pile into pastry shell. Chill. Serve with whipped cream.
