Linguine with White Clam Sauce

This is a family favorite. It is often requested and it is Donna's favorite of all.

Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped onions or shallots
- 1/4 cup fresh sliced mushrooms
- 3/4 teaspoon thyme (2 tablespoons fresh)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
- 1 canned chopped clams, 6 or 7 ounces, reserve liquid
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
- dash cayenne pepper
- freshly ground black pepper
- cooked linguine
Preparation
Step 1
1. Sauté onion, green pepper and garlic in olive oil.
2. Add mushrooms and cover for 3 minutes.
3. Add remaining ingredients including liquid from clams and heat through.
4. Serve over hot cooked linguine.
