- 4 cups milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 4 Tbsp cornstarch
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup milk
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 tsp vanilla
Mix together milk and sugar and heat in double boiler.
In a bowl mix together milk and cornstarch into a thin paste.
When mixture has come to slow simmer, pour a little hot mixture into cold milk and cornstarch, then pour into hot again.
Beat eggs yolks and add a thin stream of milk mixture into eggs making sure you don’t cook the eggs. Then add back into the saucepot and continue cooking.
Cook till thick.
