Ingredients

  • 2/3

    cup butter , softened

  • 1

    cup sugar

  • 3

    eggs

  • 1 2/3

    cups milk

  • 2 1/3

    cups all purpose flour

  • 1

    cup yellow cornmeal

  • 4 1/2

    teaspoons baking powder

  • 1

    teaspoon salt

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. 2. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Combine the eggs and milk in a seperate bowl. Combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture alternating with the egg mixture. FYI..I also add a good squirt of honey to the batter. But, this is optional 3. Pour into a greased 13x9x2 baking dish. Bake at 400 degress for 22-27 minutes or until toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cut into squares;serve warm.
