Pear and Apple Crisp

Ingredients

  • For the topping:
  • 2 lbs. each bosc pears and granny smith's
  • 1 tsp. each orange and lemon zest
  • 2 tbsps. each orange and lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1/2 lb. cold butter, diced

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350.

Cut the peeled and cored fruit into large chunks. Combine with the zests, juices, sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Pour into 9 by 12 oval dish.

For the topping:

Combine all topping ingredients in kitchen aid with paddle attachment for about one minute or until the mixture is in large crumbles. Sprinkle evenly over fruit, covering completely. Bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour til top is brown and fruit is bubbly.
