Grandma Mac's Strawberry Pretzel Salad
- 2 cups crushed pretzels
- 1/2 cup butter
- 3 tbsp. sugar
- 3 cups strawberries, sliced
- 1 large box strawberry jello
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 12 oz cool whip
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Mix pretzels, butter and sugar (1st 3 ingredients). Press into 9x13 pan. Bake @ 400 for 8 minutes. Let cool.
Mix jello with 2 cups boiling water. Remove from heat and add strawberries. Place jello/strawberry mixture in refrigerator to jell slightly.
In large bowl or mixer combine cream cheese, sugar, vanilla and cool whip. After it's well mixed, spread it over the cooled pretzel crust, completely covering the pretzel crust.
Pour slightly jelled jello/strawberries over cool whip mixture.
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
