Tuna Broccoli Casserole

Ingredients

  • 5 cups uncooked egg noodles
  • 1 tsp butter
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 2 cups fat free milk
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey jack cheese
  • 4 cups frozen broccoli florets thawed
  • 2 cans tuna

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2. Cook noodles, drain and pour into greased dish
3. Heat butter and add onion, cooking until tender
4. In a small bowl whisk cornstarch, milk and seasonings until smooth. Stir into pan and add broth.
5. Bring to a boil and cook and stir for 2 minutes until thickened.
6. Stir in 3/4 cup of cheese until melted. Add tuna and broccoli.
7. Spoon over noodles and stir. Top with remaining cheese.
8. Bake for 45 minutes or until cheese is melted.
