Chocolate Caramels

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter
  • 3 oz unsweetened chocolate
  • 2-1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 14 oz. Eagle Brand milk
  • 3/4 cups light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter and chocolate over low heat. Stir in sugar, milk and corn syrup until well blended. Cook over medium heat to firm ball stage (248 degrees) for 15- 18 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in nuts and vanilla. Pour into buttered 9" square pan. Cool and cut into 1" squares.
