Mixed Fruit Coffee Cake
I have always loved this recipe! For those of you who would like more sugar... I make an icing, like for cinnamon rolls. 1/2 cup powdered sugar and a little water(or milk) mix liquid in until it is as thick as you want it. Then drizzle ontop after baking! Yum!
I use milk in the coffee cake - makes it a little moister. A friend lays drained canned peaches over the batter then sprinkles the topping over. A tasty variation. Chopped walnuts or pecans in the streusel are also good.
Real easy recipe. I used a muffin pan instead of a larger pan. I may make this one again. The little sister said it reminded her of biscuits so I may find one that uses flour instead of Bisquick.
This is a simple to make and very tasty coffee cake. Made it for my then in-laws when they called to say they were stopping in. Father in law loved it.....I sent him home with the left overs and he had that for breakfast the next morning.
I also went over to visit my elderly landlady and brought a coffee cake with me. She really enjoyed it also.
Very easy to make, and not too sweet.
This would also be a good cake to bring for funeral food. Most people bring food for lunch and dinner, and very heavy sweets, but this coffee cake would be good for a breakfast.
This is a very easy coffee cake to make. I will make it again, but I will add my own touch as I found it a bit on the dry side. The flavor is good! I will double the streusel as others have commented.
we love this coffee cake but we add a sliced macintosh apple
and about 2 ounces ofn raisins.
