Ingredients

  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 4 cps vidalia onion
  • 4 cups rede onion
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cp white wine
  • 8 cups low sodium beef broth
  • 1/4 tsp thyme
  • 8 slices french bread
  • 8 slices swiss cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oil med heat. Add onions saute for 5 min. Stir in sugar, pepper, salt.
Reduce heat to med cook for 20 min.
Increese heat and suete for 5 min until onions are golden.
Stir in wine and cook for 1 min. Add broth and thyme:
bring to boil cover reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours

Broil bread until toasted. curn after 1 min.

place bread on bowl laddle soup and place cheese on top.
