Irish Oatmeal

Ingredients

  • 4 cups steel cut oats
  • 1 gallon filtered water

Preparation

Step 1

Soak oats for one hour or overnight. Bring water to a boil, add oats and simmer for 20-30 minutes until desired tenderness. Can add dried fruit of choice either at beginning or end of cooking time. Salt is optional. Cinnamon can be used.

Recommended dried fruits include: chopped apricots, chopped apple rings, cranberries, currants, prunes, or whatever you like.

Agave nectar can be used in place of sugar.
