Doreen's Mustard Pickles

Ingredients

  • 6-8 cucumbers
  • 6 onions
  • 1/2 cup salt (course)
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups vinegar
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp celery seed
  • 1/3 tsp dry mustard
  • 3/4 tsp ginger
  • 3/4 tsp tumeric
  • 1/2 cup flour

Preparation

Step 1

1.Peel and cube the cucumbers and the onions.
2.Sprinkle the salt over the cubed vegetables. Cover with a plate and weight down. Let stand for at least two hours.
3. Drain and rinse.
4.Mix the remaining ingredients together in a pot and bring to a boil.
5. Add the vegetables and mix together and then bring back to a boil.
6. Simmer and then bottle in mason jars.
